Bringing a strong background in business growth and regional management within the hospitality sector, Matt has been a dedicated volunteer and leader with Headway North Derbyshire since 2010. Combining commercial expertise with a deep commitment to the community, he focuses on building sustainable growth and operational success for the charity. Above all, Matt is immensely proud of the team—both past and present—whose collective dedication has been invaluable in shaping Headway into the independent charity it is today.

Driven by both professional experience and personal connection—as her husband is a brain injury survivor—Suzy has been an integral part of Headway North Derbyshire since her university research days. Working professionally to adapt homes for young people with disabilities, she brings invaluable practical knowledge to her role as Trustee. She is thrilled to help lead the charity into its next chapter as an independent organisation with dedicated staff. A journey especially close to her heart as her husband is a brain injury survivor.

Bringing over two decades of HR expertise across the public and private sectors, Lynn helps ensure Headway North Derbyshire’s governance and people policies support its growing mission. A volunteer and Trustee since 2018, she actively supports survivors and families at monthly events and once raised over £1,000 for Headway on the "Go Wild" Lake District challenge. She is exceptionally proud to see the charity reach independent status and hire its first paid employee.

Retired Neurological Nurse (Royal Hallamshire Hospital)

With a career spent on the neuro wards at Sheffield's Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Mary brings invaluable clinical insight and deep empathy to Headway North Derbyshire. Having seen firsthand how a brain injury changes lives in an instant, she joined the charity over 15 years ago to ensure survivors and their families have strong, compassionate support long after leaving the hospital. Today, she is proud to help guide Headway’s growth as a fully recognized charity with its very first paid staff member.
