INFORMATION AND AWARENESS DAY AT THE ROYAL HALLAMSHIRE HOSPITAL SHEFFIELD

On Tuesday the 10th May Headway North Derbyshire and Headway Sheffield members were with their Stand at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield to promote ABI Week, provide information and create awareness about Headway and the work it does.

During the afternoon and evening Headway volunteers and a staff member from Neuro Partners were on hand to meet visitors to the Neuro Wards and speak to Hospital staff working in this part of the hospital.

The “Success Posters” and the publicity material for the “Hats for Headway” event to be held later in the week [See below] were shown in prominence.

HATS FOR HEADWAY EVENT AT THE QUADRANT SHEFFIELD

As part of Action for Brain Injury week, Neuro Partners hosted a ‘Hats 4 Headway’ event at their Sheffield business address on Friday 13 May.  The day was organised to be both fun and informative, whilst promoting awareness of brain injury and its potentially devastating effects.

Neuro Partners were proud to secure a live interview on BBC Radio Sheffield where they promoted Headway’s Action for Brain Injury week and publicised their event. The event was also advertised on the Brain and Spine Foundation’s website.

During the day visitors could take advantage of free seminars on cognition, disability benefits and relaxation as well as free lunch, raffles and free relaxation massages.

The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended, including professionals, individuals living with the effects of brain injury, their family, friends and support workers.

The raffle raised £180.00 which Neuro Partners will donate equally to Headway North Derbyshire and Headway Sheffield, both of whom are going to use the money to take their members on a trip away in the coming months.

The ‘Hats 4 Headway’ event was organised by Neuro Partner’s Community Services Co-ordinator, Gillian Rampassard, and was generously supported by The Quadrant business centre, who provided the space and the food, and Sereniti and Tomahawk who kindly donated prizes for the raffle.

The top prize of a dinner for two at Aston Hall in Sheffield was won by one of Headway’s members, and the two free Assistant Psychologist sessions, donated by Neuro Partners, were also won by members.
